The IIT Kharagpur Journey
Ram Kumar Sir completed his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur (1998-2002), one of India's most prestigious engineering institutions. He then earned PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI, USA in 2011 — a globally recognized credential.
After spending years in the corporate world, he had one burning question: 'Why should students from small cities like Begusarai not get the same quality education that I got at IIT?'
Why Begusarai?
Ram Sir is from Begusarai himself. He saw talented students leaving for Patna, Kota, and Delhi — spending lakhs of rupees and staying away from families. Many couldn't afford it and gave up their IIT/NEET dreams.
In 2019, he took a bold decision: Leave the corporate life and start LakshyaMarch in Begusarai. The mission was simple — bring IIT-level teaching to students' doorsteps.
'If the mountain won't come to Mohammad, Mohammad will go to the mountain. But in our case, the IIT comes to Begusarai.' — Ram Kumar Sir
Building LakshyaMarch from Scratch
Starting a coaching institute in a Tier-3 city is not easy. Ram Sir faced challenges:
- Convincing quality faculty to relocate to Begusarai - Changing the local mindset that 'only Kota can produce results' - Building infrastructure with AC classrooms on Dakbangla Road - Creating a culture of discipline and accountability
But the results spoke for themselves. In just 3 years, LakshyaMarch produced IIT and NEET selections. By 2025, students were scoring 99.35 percentile in JEE Main.
The Vision Ahead
LakshyaMarch is now expanding into an Integrated Schooling model (LM Integrated School for Class 6-10) — combining board education with foundation coaching under one roof.
Ram Sir's vision: 'Every deserving student in Begusarai should have access to world-class education. We are building an ecosystem, not just a coaching center.'
With IIT and medical selections every year since inception, LakshyaMarch is proof that great education doesn't need a big city address.
